There’s nothing like a cold, crisp Pacific NW night. The sky is clear and pitch dark, and the stars twinkle in rhythm with your heart. Ripples in the water are imperceptible except for the slight splash and echo as they lap against a dock or a still boat. Clean air burns your lungs with a full breath and has the lightest salty scent. It’s so easy to miss the beauty in front of our noses. My friend who sent me this picture today reminded me that even on this long weekend of call duty, the sights and sounds that surround us are here for the taking.
